Don’t-know-to-laugh-or-to-be-mad

Last night, I did some internet surfing in another room after the kids slept. After getting the information I need, I went back into the room to hit the sack. With the dim light on, I saw boy standing in front of the DIY three-tier bookshelf (full of children’s story books). As I was wondering why would he be up at that hour from sleep to get a book, I could hear sounds of water dropping … “ssss…*tic tic tic* sss…”.

“Oh oh…” I was hoping what I had in mind is not happening. Quickly, I dashed over but it’s too late. I was pissed at what he did, more so when I have to get up early the next day for meeting. Exasperated, I raised my voice at him though I knew it was pointless since he was still in a daze. It’s my natural reaction because I have to do the cleaning at midnight! I managed to stop him from continue to pee onto the bookshelf and led him to the toilet. Yes, you heard right! He was peeing onto the bookshelfs. I guess he must be dreaming about peeing onto grandpa’s starfruit tree (he does that sometimes when I drop them at my parent’s place on my way to work).

He went back to sleep after emptying his bladder. (I asked him this morning; he didn’t remember what he did last night)    

While cleaning up the bookshelf and urine-soaked books, I felt bad for scolding him. It was a don’t-know-to-laugh-or-to-be-mad situation. Frankly, if I don’t have to clean up the mess, I’d LOL at it. Hubby thinks it is funny. When I relate this to Pa and Ma, they laughed too.

Now, I have a bunch of children books marked by Ian’s ’scent’. I will need to think of a way to sterialize them because it’d be a waste to throw them away. *sigh*
